New Black ink carts shipped from Jan 12th through February may be having a problem in which no ink whatsoever is flowing. They act as if they are "totally plugged up." This will only effect certain EPSON printers depending upon date of their manufacture.
EPSON has added some foam pads and moved others in recent releases of the EPSON 1160 and perhaps other printers. These foam pads interfere with the flow of ink from our new cartridges. Our ink cartridge manufacturer has been trying to keep up with recent printer modifications as well as offer a cartridge which has a flow rate that is conducive to Piezography®BW printing. They moved the vent hole to a new position.
We will remedy this in the next cartridge design. Until then, please follow the below examples to remedy this situation (in other words, your black ink cart won't print at all!) If you tear the foam pad, a simple piece of weather stripping is all that is necessary to use. Many users have reported that they "removed these foam tabs long ago when they began using third party carts". You can decide whether you want the pads in place or not. Our carts fit snugly enough to not need the additional pressure or dampening.
